Suzaku is an anomaly, truly- unruly and stubborn yet polite and dignified. He cares a lot about appearances but will show kouhai of his lazy behavior despite what he's supposed to teach them. Letting paperwork pile up until the last minute, despite how well he did his work, he would always display poor work habits while always telling those under him off about doing the same as him- "copy what I say, not do" he'd always say, which is maybe how he inherited the title of "old man" despite his still rather young age.
Despite his circumstance, he still cares rather immensely for those still working in behind association doors, and still tries his best to help coworkers that come to him- although he'd always decline to comment on why he had quit, never quite wishing to reveal those secrets even to his friends. Some believed the shock of losing his friend was what did it, others theorized it must've been the eight years getting to him, but they would never really get an answer out of him.
To customers, legal and illegal alike, he always holds a familiar trustworthy smile, always able to hold his cool no matter how unruly the patron; although anger sometimes does leak through, vessels popping from his forehead as he tries his best to maintain his calm composure as he tries to resolve the annoyance. He actually quite enjoys the often calm interior of his shop despite the lack of many patrons at once- he thinks having one or two at a time is better than a club full of 'em, for his own mental peace.
» NORMAL APPEARANCE: Suzaku is still young, despite what a certain brat may say about his age, and that shows through his appearance; with the wealth accumulated through his job in the heroic field, his tastes in clothes is both basic but stylish, trying his best to strike a balance between comfort and looking fashionable, while not overdoing it. He wants to look good at a glance, but not stand out in a crowd, although that may be hard with crimson hair and yellow eyes- quite peculiar accents inherited from a family who has spent their entire lineage standing out.
During work, he tries to look dignified and approachable- he wears what you'd expect a normal bartender to wear, fancy clothing that looks as if they belong to the servant of some wealthy person. His face always holds a smile that, to the experienced, is evidently hiding many things. From the smell of his cologne, to his body language, he has put a lot of effort into doing his job of making the customer feel relaxed.
Suzaku was a child like any other- the heroes that roamed the world were practically his idols, a dream job for any kid who even took a peep at any television. Some wanted to have epic battles with villains, others wished to save everyone they could, while another group pined for the fame that trailed these household names... and, this was also how he had met one of his very first friends, Tanaka. While most dreams of heroism died off as kids started reaching older ages, their infatuation with the career path was no joke.
But there was a massive difference between the two of them, one that Suzaku tried to ignore as it became increasingly difficult to do so... Tanaka, he had a wonderful quirk, one that he had displayed the firepower of during each year that they would show off- one befitting of a hero, really! He could trample any bad guy who stood in his way, and Suzaku's quirk could only pale in comparison; that bright yellow shine of his friend's soul was blinding when he activated it, even! Being able to read people was a good skill by itself but... for a hero? The bar was much higher.
As they went through their younger years, Suzaku could only slowly peel away from his dream, the poor outlook on his quirk's future being mixed with a face full of realism... every month, he would witness something else online that would pull him away, but those things just ended up being motivators for Tanaka- criticism against a shady hero? Well, his friend would just be better! People suffering? Tanaka would be there to help them. Nothing could crush the other's motivation, while Suzaku had already resigned to his fate.
But, as the two neared the end of their middle school years, Suzaku's motivation had been all over the place due to the unending optimism of his friend. There had to be a way he could help them, even if not as a fellow hero, right? See, Suzaku might have always been far behind his friend in terms of physical prowess and quirk strength, but if he had one thing over the all-perfect hero... well, it would be his brain. That's when he started to look into jobs that were related to heroism, rather than the career itself.
That's when he discovered the wonders of the Hero Association- they were the people who managed the heroes, who did everything in the background. Investigations, internal affairs, organizing data, the whole shebang... wasn't that perfect? His friend's optimism about the whole thing only motivated Suzaku further, quick to apply himself and apply to the same hero school as Tanaka, although only for the general education branch- where he'd go on to befriend some of the teachers, managing to impress them enough to get their recommendation for being hired post-graduation. Things were smooth sailing- and Suzaku was loving it.
The first day in the office was always the most awkward- flubbing his introduction, those in the same office as him could only laugh it off as he was assigned to work under a senpai of his, someone who the current Suzaku only holds conflicting feelings of respect and disdain for. Eight whole years- from learning the ropes, experiencing his first disaster situation, and the first investigations and theories being bounced between similarly intelligent people... it really was a lot, especially mentally draining, but the thought of his friend making waves in the heroic community made him press forward.
Tanaka was doing well, too! As Suzaku gained seniority, they began sending people to learn under him, which gave him a sense of fulfillment as he tried his best to teach people the ropes; not all were cut out for it, some even quitting after their first disaster evaluation. It was a hard job, for sure, but he'd try his best to guide the new people through it. The two friends would always exchange stories, even into their late twenties, both doing rather well for their chosen paths- it's not like his friend had achieved the global popularity others had, but his soul was always content.
Well, all was good and well until a certain bit of news broke out, one that would bring Suzaku to his previous teacher's office, now his boss. ``What do you mean there was a casualty? Didn't we say there was no danger?!`` As part of his job, he had to deal with a lot of internal affairs with heroes, a job that lead to sending other heroes on busts; this time, his friend had been sent to deal with someone dealing with the black market. The end result was... something quite unfortunate. ``We have to report this... he died because of our-``
His boss was quick to slam his fist on the table, angry at his subordinate's out of line thinking. ``Report it? Are you crazy? That's the quickest way that both of us get fired immediately.`` With a sigh, he would grab a pen and scribble something down. ``We will not investigate this further. The story is that he was ambushed by an unaffiliated villain- something we could never foresee.`` Suzaku was rather appalled at what he was hearing- to not take responsibility for his friend's death, and instead... write it off?!
``That's bullshit. We need to figure out what exactly happened. They will find out eventually-`` Once again cut off by his boss, he would push the documents forward. ``You heard what I said, Inoue. Pursuing it means I may need to report your disobedience... being fired would be the lightest punishment.`` Tongue tied, Suzaku could only grit his teeth as he grabbed onto the id hanging from his neck. ``Then I fucking quit!`` Throwing the card onto his boss' desk, he stormed out of the room, only hearing the final warning before he left.
Even if he was leaving behind a kouhai- a rather promising one too, despite how much she had called him an 'old man' in the time she had came to the office- he really couldn't stand what was going on... decisions may have been rash, but emotions were high, unable to accept the fact that the friend who he had grown up for so long with was now gone due to his own incompetence... and that his boss wanted to cover it up. It was all far too much. Without much explanation, he was quick to move his stuff from the office, only offering a simple "goodbye" to anyone who he was affiliated with in the office.
From that point, with quite the bit of money saved up, he thought he'd go ahead and take a break from all the heroics, obtaining a bartending certificate before opening his own little place; the Dandelion, a nice place that accepts all kinds of people. If not for interrogations, he may as well put his quirk to good use. However, the period of peace was only very brief, the drunken blabbering of a man revealing something very dangerous for him to hear- plotting of villainous acts! But no, he had quit the heroic acts, he wouldn't want to even listen to the associations on hold tone.
But, when a suited man came in the next day, asking for someone who matched the description of the blabbering fool- but Suzaku didn't want to become involved, yet the whole thing was far too ugly to ignore... so, he devised quite the plan. As he dried out a cup, he would place it down in front of the association goon, planting hands spread out in front of him to lean against the bartender-side of the counter. ``Well, I know nothing... unless you're willing to pay a price?`` This is how Suzaku got into his current under-the-desk job, through his own stubborn will- the money he got from it was no joke, either.
» DESCRIPTION: Suzaku can see into people's souls. This comment is not just a reflection on his ability to read people, however, it's also apart of the power he holds both in his mind and his hands. There are two parts to it, and both aid his ability as a bartender, information broker, and interrogator.
» DRAWBACKS: Suzaku likes to say something from time to time; "emotions control everyone". Altering something as primitive as how one feels, no matter how well they try to hide it, will have some adverse effects- the cost to pay for his quirk is as follows. While looking at other's souls, headaches come to him much easier, meaning he might strain his mind if he's caught staring for too long- four posts will produce a small headache, which will fade in two posts. For the second part, whatever emotion he inserts into something, he will feel as well- so when he's feeling rather happy one day, but wants to make someone a depresso espresso, he may as well be prepared for quite some emotional confusion. He holds these emotions for two posts after infusion, either enhancing already existing ones or conflicting with current ones.
» DESCRIPTION: Suzaku made a very dumb mistake, taking the form of the quirk drug Rewire that he now has in his possession. When under the effects of this drug, Suzaku's body starts to change on a cellular level, becoming akin to a circuit, with his heart being what outputs a charge; the faster it beats, the more oomph there'll be behind his blows, and vice versa. At this level, the user has found himself incredibly attuned to the feeling of electricity coursing through his veins, as if it were always a natural thing for him. Because his body is the circuit, a lot of the applications are limited to his close proximity, although there are some exceptions.
» DRAWBACKS:
He's always had a natural gift for it; due to his ability to "see" into people's souls and extract how they're feeling, as well as genuinely good intuition and situational awareness, Suzaku's brain is rather good at connecting evidence and creating a full picture. Put him in a crime scene and he'll have a few theories ready to go by the end of the day- it's a skill that got good use during his disaster scene investigation days, and even more so during his internal affairs work. He's still a novice, but he's a quick learner!

SOUL JUNCTION

» DESCRIPTION: Suzaku can see into people's souls. This comment is not just a reflection on his ability to read people, however, it's also apart of the power he holds both in his mind and his hands. There are two parts to it, and both aid his ability as a bartender, information broker, and interrogator.
SOUL-SEER: His mind is able to process two different images- one that everyone else sees as a normal human being, and another image with everything the same but with silhouettes of people. But what does that exactly mean? Well, while he can see them normally, he's also able to see a person as a mishmash of different colours and shapes that fit into this silhouette. At his current level, he's able to tap a bit further than just the basic emotions of anger, sadness, and happiness; before, it was difficult determining what kind of colour correlated to what kind of happiness/sadness/anger, but now it's easier to understand.HAPPINESS: He may sense joy, tranquility, arrogance, and content. These hues can be dull and even faded if emotions aren't strong, or be so vibrant that it hurts to look at- those kinds of people are usually annoyances to deal with, so controlled by their emotions that Suzaku can only scoff at them. It's possible for somebody to have no emotion, or very faded ones, which will make their silhouette look darkened / completely black. This is common in coma patients, or people very adept at hiding how they feel. He can look at this second "layer" of how he processes the world for up to four posts.
SADNESS: He may sense depression, melancholy, guilt, and regret.
ANGER: He may sense rage, betrayal, helplessness, and hatred.
SOUL GUIDANCE: Reading people is only one part of it all; through a medium that one would have to intake, such as food, medicine, or drinks, Suzaku is able to guide one's emotions in a certain direction. When he does this, the liquid emits a soft glow as he infuses the drink with one of the aforementioned emotions, which occurs for a brief moment. At his current level, he can only put up to three different emotions into a single drink, and the intensity of each emotions lessens with each one. As well, they are merely suggestions, so strong-headed people are usually able to ignore the effects, and conflicting emotions will cancel out. He can only infuse up to three drinks in the span of three posts, which resets at the start of the fourth post.
The taste of whatever it is will also change, good flavors accentuated by matching emotions with the patron and poor flavors brought forth by conflicting ones; however, emotions aren't so black and white, and they come in a spectrum. By mixing emotions, Suzaku can slowly guide one towards his desired tone, like a "bridge" of emotions, endpoints possibly being wildly different but the ride in between a smooth one. He can try to go straight from point A to point B but... the patron might spit the drink out in that case.

🗲 POSITIVELY CHARGED - Every electrobeing's best friend, the fact that all this current is coursing through their body- that's not for nothing, mind you! All the electricity coursing through Suzaku empowers some of his physical qualities, especially when it pertains to speed. Kicking his body to its limit, his body becomes a blur as he can move at speeds upwards of 60mph, while being able to react to similar speeds as to not immediately crash into something, while also being able to punch through reinforced steel and pick up to 2 tons. This gives him no flatout defensive qualities, however, so he has to be careful when it comes to other's attacks! This takes the form of electricity crackling around his person, which is a sign that his quirk is active.
🗲 NEGATIVELY CHARGED - Suzaku is a circuit, thus he can control the flow of electricity within his body. This includes the flow both internally and externally, mainly conducting it through objects, people, or even his blood. The largest item his current can flow through at a stable rate would be akin to a large car/truck, and he can push his current up to 60m depending on the material, with the lowest being 30m, through surfaces such as the floor/wall to reach his target. With this current, he can superheat and melt metals with a melting point akin to stainless steel, cause electronics to malfunction or break, cause muscle contractions akin to a taser, or potentially even cause a heart attack if he puts too much charge into it.
🗲 OVERCHARGED - Because Suzaku's quirk makes his body practically a circuit, he's able to take in electrical currents and either redirect them using POSITIVELY CHARGED or absorb them for a small physical boost, making him slightly above his peers for a single post after receiving the foreign current. Trying to fight him with electricity is a rookie mistake, as it's very like that it'll just go straight back into you if you aren't careful. When in this state of OVERCHARGED, much more electricity will crackle off his person and potentially zap those around him, producing a gentle pain but not doing any damage otherwise.
🗲 FLUX - The ability to attract and repel, that's what FLUX is. With this, Suzaku can create a field of electricity as large as a 5m dome, with him as the center, in a wide array of shapes and sizes. Ferrous projectiles that are flying as fast as a bullet shot from a standard handgun will be caught in this field and stuck in place after decelerating, which Suzaku can then either allow them to drop or repel them back upwards of 30m in any direction. The largest object he could catch is around the size of a truck and anything he shoots back with contain an electric charge, akin to that described in NEGATIVELY CHARGED. Alternatively, if he cannot decelerate an object, he can use the field to try and disrupt incoming attacks.
